When I looked at Gardens of Stonebridge’s existing identity, there were plenty of elements I wanted to keep. They knew their brand, which was clearly stated in their tagline: INSPIRED BY NATURE. Their hand-drawn leaf icon made sense as a visual element to expand upon. Their existing copy worked: “We created an atmosphere that’s literally a breath of fresh air.” By tying in a physical sensation we’re all familiar with, Gardens of Stonebridge allowed couples searching online a little peek into what it would be like to visit the venue in person, away from a screen. So smart.

I decided to move forward with those elements as a starting point. What that meant for me was versatile and airy hand drawn details, an updated logo, and a color palette that brought more richness to their online presence in the way their copy already did.

I simplified the overall map of the Gardens of Stonebridge website to make sure all the information a couple might need would be easy to find. I removed the website’s gallery and instead embedded their Instagram page for easy image updates.

To make sure their Instagram page could truly replace a gallery page, I defined exactly what “made” a post moving forward. Each post had to do at least one of the following:

• Feature and tag a couple who was married at Gardens of Stonebridge (getting reposts and expanding their network)
• Feature a natural element of Gardens of Stonebridge and educate in the caption about the specific plant or feature (showing expertise and long-term engagement with nature)
• Feature and tag a designer who had done exceptional work on a wedding at Gardens of Stonebridge (getting reposts and expanding their network)
